The challenge
Innis and Gunn is one of the most successful craft breweries in the UK. Their lager is the number one in Scotland and number three in the UK. Originality is at the heart of Innis and Gunn’s core values; they project that through their tone of voice, range of products, and packaging. As part of a blue sky hypothetical project and the evaluation of a growth opportunity for this brand in the cider market, we wanted to explore package design for a potential new cider within their portfolio.
The solution Impact
We maintained the original flavor while exploring cask maturation. Our ‘Rusty Orange’ flavor is matured in a Calvados cask, with the name and color drawing inspiration from its caramel tones. The ‘Scarlet Spice’ flavor is matured in a Demerara Rum cask, with the name and color drawing inspiration from the deep, rich flavors and spices in the cask. As a result, we have created a high-quality cider range that fits the market and feels original, premium and “Innis and Gunn”.
